Breakfast Omelette

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This delicious breakfast omelette offers a great combo of eggs (great source of protein), vegetables and cheese. It is very fulfilling and a great food item to start your day with.



List of ingredients:

  • Eggs - 3
  • Chopped chives - 1.5 tbsp
  • Mushroom - 1 medium sized
  • Spinach leaves - 10 to 12
  • Chopped Bell pepper (red/green/orange/yellow) - 2 tbsp
  • Shredded sharp cheddar cheese - half cup
  • Vegetable oil or Butter - 2 tbsp

Beef Tehari Bangladeshi Recipe | Old Dhaka's Famous Main Course

Beef Tehari is a very famous and delicious main course of Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. This core dish is like the heritage of Bengali cuisine. It has been loved and appreciated for over many decades now. It is extremely rich and alone can steal the show. It requires no sides but could be served with some salad. It is cooked in steps and I have compiled a very detailed step by step recipe video.

List of ingredients:

  • Beef - 1 kg / 2.2 lb
  • Basmati Rice - 750 gm / 4.5 cups  *any fragrant rice could be used
  • Garlic paste - 1.5 tbsp
  • Ginger paste - 1.5 tbsp
  • Mustard paste - 1.5 tsp
  • Nutmeg powder - 0.5 tsp
  • Mace powder - 0.5 tsp
  • Bird's eye chilli whole - 20 pieces
  • Bird's eye chilli paste - 1 tbsp
  • Full fat Yogurt - 0.5 cup
  • Salt - 3 tsp or to taste
  • Tasting salt - 0.5  tsp
  • Chopped onions - 4 cups
  • Onion paste - 3 tbsp
  • Cumin powder - 1 tbsp
  • Paprika - 1 tsp
  • Bay leaves - 4 big pieces
  • Cinnamon Sticks - 4 pieces
  • Cardamom (small) - 5 pieces
  • Black peppercorns whole - 18 to 20 count
  • Cloves - 8 to 10 count
  • Kewra (flavoured) water - 1 tsp
  • Mustard oil - 1/3rd cup
  • Vegetable/Corn oil - 1/3rd cup
  • Ghee - 10 tbsp (8 tbsp = 1/2 cup)

Beef and Pasta Casserole

Casserole is a very popular western dish around the world. "Beef and Pasta Casserole" is a mouthwatering perfect combo of protein, carbohydrate and fat. It consists of three layers -an even layer of ground beef at the bottom followed by a layer of mini penne pasta in the middle and topped with cheese sauce. You could pick up the ingredients from your local grocery store and have dinner ready within an hour; it is that quick! Also, you do not have to spend a long time cleaning afterwards since it causes minimum mess in the kitchen. 




List of Ingredients:


  • Ground beef - 1 lb
  • Onion powder  - 1 tbsp
  • Ground black pepper - 1 tbsp
  • Green bell pepper (chopped) - 1 cup 
  • Mushrooms (sliced and cut into halves) - 1 cup
  • Mini Penne Pasta - 0.5 lb or 2 cups 
  • Cooking oil - 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter - 3 tbsp
  • All purpose flour - 3 tbsp
  • Milk - 3 cups at room temperature
  • Nutmeg powder - a pinch (less than 1/4th tsp)
  • Shredded sharp cheddar cheese - 1 cup or 4oz.
  • Shredded sharp mozzarella cheese - 1 cup or 4oz.
  • Shredded parmesan cheese - 1 cup or 4oz.

Creamy Mashed Potatoes


"Mashed Potatoes" is a very popular side dish to any meal around the world. It is a delicious form of carbohydrate and is appealing to people of any age group. Different restaurants follow their own house recipe to make mashed potatoes; this one right here is a very simple recipe of my own that I usually make for my family.

  • Russet Potatoes 1.5 lb
  • Heavy Whipping Cream 1 cup

Spicy Mashed Sardine


Canned sardine in tomato sauce has been my favorite since childhood. I grew up eating my mom's cooked sardine using various spices. When I started cooking, over the years, I came up with my own recipe for the same canned sardines in tomato sauce that my mom used to cook. Here is my version of the recipe. 


List of Ingredients:

  • Sardine (in tomato sauce, 15fl oz or 425g)
  • Onions 2 cups finely chopped
  • Garlic 1 tbsp finely chopped
  • Cooking Oil 1/4th cup or as needed
  • Turmeric powder 1/4th tsp
  • Cayenne Pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 3/4th tsp
  • Curry powder 3/4th tsp
  • Paprika 1 tsp
  • Potato 1 cup grated
  • Salt to taste (1 tsp)
  • Cilantro ½ cup finely chopped
  • Green chili 4 pieces cut into half or Julianne cut
*If for any reason, the sardine in tomato sauce is not available, then you can also use any canned sardine of your choice and add half a cup of tomato puree during cooking.

Crispy Baked Chicken Drumsticks


"Crispy Baked Chicken Drumsticks" is very appealing to the taste buds. It tastes like fried chicken drumsticks without the effort of frying, and with the convenience of baking. The preparation time is minimum here and you do not even need to marinate the chicken from ahead of time. Yet, the outer layer comes out super crispy while the inside remains very tender and juicy. 



List of Ingredients:

  • 2 lb of chicken drumsticks skin on 
  • Half cup or 8 tbsp of butter/margarine
  • 1.5 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 egg

Fusion Coconut Chicken

Fusion Coconut Chicken is a very popular dish in my kitchen. It is a combo of Thai and Indian cuisine. This is a family favorite or rather "hubby favorite"! It is a very simple, yet tasty recipe; quick and easy try for even a new cook. If you have people coming over all of a sudden, or had a busy day and do not feel like spending too much time in the kitchen and yet want some gourmet dinner, this is your dish!





Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken breast cut into cubes (preferably small)
  • Onions 1 cup (finely chopped or semi blended)
  • Garlic 1 tsp (finely chopped/paste)
  • Ginger paste 1tsp
  • Cayenne Pepper (ground) 1 tsp (also known as red chilli powder)
  • Black Pepper (ground) 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Paprika (ground) 1 tsp
  • Accent salt 1/2 tsp                                                                                                             
  • Lawry's seasoned salt 1 tbsp (or to taste)                                                               seasoned salt
  • Thai kitchen unsweetened coconut milk 1 can (approx. 14 fl oz or 403 ml) 
  • Hunt's diced tomato (in basil, garlic and oregano) 1 can (approx. 14.5 fl oz or 411 g)
  • Sweet peas 12 fl oz or 340 g
  • Cooking oil 1/2 cup
